I agree with that, but with the amount of space with inventory and storage combined, even the collectors don't have room for much of a collection. If you have all the Halloween items, all the Wintersday items, the tengu mask, and this, that is a lot. All of the candy cane bows, ghost-in-a-box, etc take up way to much space to be "fun" items.

I think you're thinking of the ending to the Factions Preview Event, which isn't quite the same thing...

Either way they need to have an amazing finale. I think they learned from the whole Halloween event. Sit their for 3 hours do nothign, die a couple times, get a pumpkin hat. Hopefully this even will be awesome as it has the potential to be one of the greatest events yet. The mask look sweet. Cant wait to get one.

They better have Blue maskes with white horns for monks.
I would die happy for that.
But it looks like you dye the face, and all the little spikey parts will be gold.

HOWEVER I hope when they do they add a new area on the island that has a little bit of everything land/forest/city all compacted together.. that would be fun.

This would be utterly ridiculous if everyone showed in in Shing and said WHERES MY HAT?!?!?! Suprise update! No event!

Tough choice which one I'd rather be at..
The new hats should be class specific armor, then +1 to your highest attribute. Easily programmable when you get it. Or just identical to the hat you have on.

My guess is that they'll be customized for you, like the other hats.
I wonder if we'll have weapons such as the candy cane ones, or gingerbread shields? (but more dragon based, of course)

Uhh..every boss in Cantha drops a green. So those "new extras" added into Tyria are kinda irrelevent.

......You get that gigantic added content called "Sorrow's Furnace" for Prophecies.
I highly doubt that you'll get anything close to that in Factions, really. So these small additions are good enough for me.
So please, stop griping.

That was after months and months. The question at hand: is A.net going to be updating Tyria at all in the future. It is advertised as a stand alone game, just as Factions was. This is the first event in Factions. It hasn't been out very long, and who's to say they will not add a "Sorrow's Furnace equivalent" to the Ch.2 Campaign in time, more events, etc, and ignore the Ch.1 event (on a large scale for updates) for the remainder of its existance.
Also, if this pattern continues, will we be seeing the end of large additions/events to Ch.2 once Ch.3 comes along in a few months?

true, I am a collector and 2 of my characters are full with items like these... They really need to do something about this, imo just making more storage space isn't something that will solve the problem, because I will have the same problem in 2 chapters or something, they need to think of a way how to make these collector items/armours not just a slot in your inventory.
maybe a button in your inventory where all your armour is automatically is stored in, wich can expand whenever you buy a new armour. Also a button with same but then for collectors items.

sry for double post:
The ppl who are complaining about this event not beeing in Tyria
1) Cantha can have a special event to can't it? Maybe wintersday/halloween is only in Tyria, dunno thats something we will have to see.
2) If I was a company I would give some events only for tyria and only for cantha, what they want is that more ppl buy their game.
If they do it like number 2, then there will be MANY events in 2 years with all those new chapters
anyway, I love this Dragon festival and will farm like hell just to get all collectors stuff.

if this was a marketing ploy they would umm MARKET IT.

To anyone saying this is not marketing, get real. It's right on the spotlight on their front page (www.guildwars.com), and is clearly going to be something that non-GW account holders will be checking out, I know I would, just to see what extras they can offer me.
On Topic: I'm interested in the "special PvP gameplay" they're offering, sounds like fun And the masks look hot. I've always been a fan of Mario games, and Bowser kicks some serious butt.

Of course, to some extent, every event is going to boost the sales of Guild Wars by a bit, but what I disagree with is the flaming of ArenaNet for doing this ONLY AS a marketing ploy. They do something nice for the players (which also should attract some new ones) and you berate them for it? Pathetic. If you have to see everything as just another marketing ploy, check out communist China. They think like you do.

......Could all of you, who are asking for more content in Prophecies, name me new contents (if any) in the following game that you can get for free after released:
- Half-Life 2
- Black and White
- Age of Empires III (other than some new maps, which you can even make one yourself)
- GTA San Andreas
....some of those don't even have online-mode.
With that said, do you think Anet is at fault if they decide not to add any more content to Prophecies after more than 1 full year of great support? Could you consider Anet a "BAD" or "Money-hungry" company for adding more content to their new game? Come ON! It's not like you've paid more for GW than any of the games listed above.
To Anet: More content for Factions please. You can add more to Tyria if you want, but I'll consider them as gifts, not something you have to do. After all, you owe us nothing.
